“So Uk 2.0” – A Comfortable and Meaningful Home

The 4th So Uk of SRACP was officially launched in February this year which is located at Staunton Street, Sheung Wan. The project aims to promote multi-generational co-living environment and the spirit of mutual help at neighbourhood level in the community. It provides six units with 24 spaces in total, for deprived singletons including ex-offenders, persons in recovery and out-of-home youths from different age groups and background, in which cross generation co-living model is promoted.
Ms. Anthea LEE Shuk Wai, Chief Executive and two tenants Wendy and Uncle Bill were being interviewed by the "HKCSS Channel". In addition to introducing details and concepts of the project, the two tenants also share their daily lives in So Uk 2.0.

SRACP launches “Happy Learning Thro' Play” for disadvantaged groups

Classes were suspended for months because of the continuous coronavirus outbreak, caregivers are under great pressure at this critical time. In order to alleviate the anxiety of affected communities, SRACP launched a project “Happy Learning Thro' Play” to provide multiple choices of toys, books and learning resources for the service users’ families during class suspension period. It is hoped that both children and parents can have more interactions through playing toys and family games, meanwhile to reduce the stress of the caregivers.

Work Together Fight The New Coronavirus Epidemic

Affected by the spreading of the COVID-19 in Hong Kong, the disadvantaged group’s livelihoods are under pressure, especially for the rehabilitated persons. Interviewed by HK01, Roy (employee of Bright Service Company Limited – BS) shared the difficulties he encountered under the coronavirus - many events and exhibitions were cancelled since Lunar New Year, which severely affected his income. He is worried that rehabilitated people have fewer opportunities to be employed in the market. Being a social enterprise established by SRACP, BS try to coordinate a short-term positions for Roy, such as driver and porter to tackle the urgent problem. The general market, however, is difficult to recover in no time, the social enterprise itself is facing rigorous challenges, how can BS survive from this unprecedented situation?
